In immigration to Canada per 100,000 , India is nearly sending twice more than Pakistan
November 2, 2026

Pakistan’s remittances have nearly quadrupled in 15 years. Who’s sending them has shifted too.
Remittances went from about $11bn in FY11 to roughly $41bn in FY26. A few things stand out in the regional mix:
📍 The Gulf is still the backbone. It supplies over half of all inflows (54% in FY26) and about $22bn in absolute terms, roughly 3x its FY11 level. But its share has slipped from a 65% peak in FY20.
📍 Europe is the quiet growth story. Its share rose from 17% in FY14 to 28% in FY25-26, and it now sends more than North America and Asia-Pacific combined.
📍 North America has held steady at 11-14% since FY21, growing in dollars but not in share.
