Pension Districts of Punjab and how government bankruptcy is partly due to pension and government related jobs and the inefficiency in economy it generates : some reflections

Overall 11% households claim their main source of income is pension (and in Pakistani context this means government pension – including military)

Below are the districts with heavy to lowest concentration

The districts seem interesting but dont fit the pattern.

The military sending belt is up but not the top . Lahore being top is interesting but how does one interpret it?

Its clear that as we think about a future Pakistan , we ought to think about how dependance on the state needs to be reduced. Many statistics of this nature show that part of the reason state is getting bankrupt (apart from corruption etc) is because it has hired too many and on far too generous terms. Pensioners are no rich people . But can we fleece one poor to pay to the other? The model needs a rethink now
