Well endowed districts in the country? Sialkot is at number three , higher than Lahore

Using Census 2023 at Gallup Pakistan Digital Analytics we have developed a welfare index which looks at variety of indices available at district level including education , housing facilities , electricity access , toilet access and others.

The index is not just about income or purchasing power but truly which districts have served their citizens better !

The top is Islamabad . Its rise from a sleepy town of merely 50,000 to 2 million in merely three – four decades is remarkable.

Sialkot being better than Lahore is surprising but understandable.

The absence from the list of any city from KP apart from Abottabad and also of interior Sindh and Balochistan shows how our growth story is all about inequality !
