Gallup Pakistan Digital Analytics has created a dedicated dashboard to understand how case load is distributed at High Court Level. We have so far created a dashboard for Lahore High Court using publicly available Cause List.
Similar dashboards are in the making for other high courts.
One thing that stood out for me was the sheer traffic of cases. Just one registry (the main one in Lahore) has more than 2000 cases every day !
The judicial load is enormous per judge !
How do we reduce this load? Does adding more judges is the solution? Should arbitration be encouraged? Given more than 50% cases are Writs should litigation against government functionaries be separated?
I am not a lawyer nor a legal expert but i hope we are using these numbers to resolve issues for common people.
Such large load means the litigants are suffering one way or the other : delay in judgments , poor services etc.
